Sex Addiction: Neuroscience, Trauma and the Family


We are pleased to announce a professional training on sex addiction and recovery by Dr. Stefanie Carnes on June 24 & 25, 2016. 

On the first day of training, Dr. Carnes will discuss up-to-date research on diagnosis and etiology of sex addiction, role of trauma and attachment on sex addiction, and impact of sex addiction on children. The second day of training is a skill building workshop aims to address the basics of sex addiction recovery such as sexual health plans, integrating the 12 steps and common treatment approaches and tools. Treatment for the partner will be addressed. Participants who would like to join the skill building workshop must attend the first day of training.

Dr. Carnes is a licensed marriage and family therapist and an AAMFT approved supervisor.  She is specialized in working with individuals and families struggling with multiple addictions such as sexual addiction, eating disorders and chemical dependency. She is also a certified sex addiction therapist and supervisor, specializing in therapy for couples and families struggling with sexual addiction. She presents regularly at national conferences and has authored numerous publications on addiction and recovery.
